East Beats West in All-Star Game in Sudden Death Home Run Derby

June 19, 2019 - South Bend, IN: The brand-new All-Star Game rule that was talked about in a big way before the night started actually came true on Tuesday night for the 2019 Midwest League All-Star Game from Four Winds Field. After being tied at 3-3 after nine innings of play, public address announcer Gregg Sims announced that the game would be decided by a sudden death home run derby. June 18, 2019 - SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The 55th Annual Midwest League All-Star Game was decided via a sudden death home run derby after the East and West played to a 3-3 tie in nine innings. Chris Betts of the Bowling Green Hot Rods, who also won the Home Run Derby on Monday night and was named the game's most valuable player, outslugged Blaze Alexander of the Kane County Cougars 2-1 in the two 90-second rounds to win the all-star game for the Eastern Division. Andrew Bechtold promoted to Fort Myers

June 18, 2019 - Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that INF Andrew Bechtold has been promoted to Fort Myers and catcher Trevor Casanova will join the Kernels from Elizabethton. Brian Maloney, Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the moves. Bechtold played in 66 games for the Kernels this season, batting .249 (51-205) with 5 HR and 25 RBI.
