CFL Rules Committee Focuses on Protecting Quarterbacks

March 22, 2019 - TORONTO - The Canadian Football League's (CFL) Rules Committee is looking to do even more to protect the quarterback. "There is a real focus here on player safety in general and the health of quarterbacks in particular," said Darren Hackwood, the league's Senior Director of Officiating, as the committee wrapped up its annual meetings. Eskimos Re-Sign Dupuis

March 21, 2019 - (Edmonton) - The Edmonton Eskimos have re-signed national fullback Alex Dupuis. Dupuis appeared in nine games for the Green and Gold last season and 25 games total since originally signing with Edmonton as a free agent in 2017. Prior to the Eskimos, he spent three seasons (2014-16) with the Toronto Argonauts after being selected in the fourth round of the 2014 CFL Draft. March 20, 2019 - The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Wednesday the football club has signed three international free agents, including offensive lineman Vinston Painter, and wide receivers Andrew Turzilli and Jaelon Acklin. Painter, 29, has appeared in 14 career National Football League games with the Cleveland Browns (2014), Washington Redskins (2016) and Arizona Cardinals (2017). Matt Black Announces Retirement After 10 Seasons in Double Blue

March 20, 2019 - TORONTO - The Toronto Argonauts announced today that defensive back Matt Black has retired from professional football. Black was born and raised in Toronto and spent his entire 10-year career with the Double Blue after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2008 CFL Draft.
