River Cats hang on for wild win in Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The Sacramento River Cats (49-45) jumped out to a 10-1 lead after two innings but needed a wild game-ending play to squeeze by the Salt Lake Bees (40-54) by a final score of 12-11. The River Cats were fueled by a huge game at the plate from first baseman Chris Shaw, whose solo home run in the fifth inning highlighted a 5-for-6 night that also included two doubles. Syracuse Scores Most Runs in 13 Seasons in 20-1 Victory over Indianapolis on Monday Night

Indianapolis, IN - The Syracuse Mets racked up season highs in home runs, hits, and runs scored in a 20-1 win over the Indianapolis Indians on Monday night at Victory Field. The Mets had 22 hits, including seven home runs in the game. The 20 runs are the most scored in a game by Syracuse since a 23-11 win at home against the Richmond Braves on July 16, 2006. BASEBALL International League: The city of Worcester (MA) broke ground this week on a new 10,000-seat stadium, which will become home to the Triple-A International League's Pawtucket Red Sox team that will relocate from Rhode Island to Worcester for the 2021 season. The team will also undergo a name change as part of the relocation.
